oin us in a unique exploration of urban revitalization with Professor Lisa Chadok from San Diego City College. Once an abundant habitat now transformed into an urban landscape, learn how we are re-introducing native plants through the 'Plants for Birds Project' to aid local species. From specially designed gardens attracting hummingbirds to plots aimed at supporting pollinators and smaller birds, we are making a significant effort to regenerate the local ecosystem. We are not only providing a haven for migratory birds but also creating a nurturing environment for the majestic Monarch butterflies with carefully chosen plants such as milkweed. Our extensive selection of native plants, like the White Sage, Cleveland Sage, and local verbena, serve as a resource for various bees and butterflies. This project, backed by the support of San Diego City College, seeks to transform the habitat into a critical stopover for birds migrating north and south. As a board member of San Diego Audubon, Lisa is enthusiastic about educating others and making a substantial impact against climate change.
